Shut Yr Vox
2005 is not, repeat not getting off to a good start (!) or is it? I won’t bore you with details of a less than desirable work situation that may finally give way to a brighter more rewarding and principled future. Though, it has to be said that the transition may not be quite as smooth as one would have hoped. The prevailing climate means that the prospect of redundancy is a potentially sweet concept indeed, and one laced with new and expansive opportunities. This could be the push to jump that jump-starts the big push to something more plush, as it might be…You with me?
I already have the go-ahead for some useful and prestigious re-training/ re-skilling in the Broadcast production field, and really do need to follow or re-join this old and much vaunted career path. Funding will be a problem, though hardly an insurmountable one. Yes, I do feel that 05 will be a rewarding year (!) its just that as with all good things one may have to experience and suffer a period of “birthing” pain…a veritable joy of joys…indubitably.

Mark has sent me a “burn” of the Destroy Rock & Roll album and it is truly out standing in terms of musicality and idiomatic post-modern jumpin around and stuff. MacInnes has used a number of interesting “sound bites”, those useful bits of obscure verbal pros that post-modernisters of Mylo’s stature weave into the fabric of a mix to create effecting musical narrative. At one point Mark suggested that Mylo had used old media clips from interviews with David Koresh, I doubt this now, but the effect of the benign utterances that creep into Sunworshipper felt almost disturbingly warped in the context of a moody musical setting. I think it is just some random young guy. The demented loop in the title track is just hilarious.
This has become my epiphany album of the moment.
