The weather closing in from Wildboarclough
More photos from a recent expedition up to Shutlingsloe in Cheshire. This image has been processed to give a more painterly look with an emphasis on tonality and forms. For me, it typifies the quintessential colour pallet of this beautiful Cheshire / Peak District landscape which comes alive in dramatic weather conditions.

Cut Spruce in Macclesfield forest
HDR + orton process and texture layer. On my recent trip up to Shutlingsloe I came across a large clearing in the forest where a number of mature spruce trees had been cut down. New saplings had already been planted in their place. Just a little further on from this spot I stopped to watch the magical sight of low cloud drifting across the landscape and literally touching the ground.
Lightning Trees
Shutlingsloe
A hard mountain biking expedition through Macclesfield Forest arriving at Shutlingsloe. This time I did not get to the summit as the weather closed in just as I got to the start of the path that winds its way around the hill. Conditions up top would have been rather exciting but not so good for photography. I plan many more visits though.
On my way to Shulingsloe
Weather changing, very windy — an exciting day up in the Macclesfield hills.
